2026–27 Winter Season Operating Schedule

We are pleased to announce our operating schedule for the 2026–27 winter season.

Madarao Mountain Resort is scheduled to open for the winter season on Saturday, December 12, 2026.

Please note that the schedule is subject to change depending on snow and weather conditions.

Highlights

■New Snow Play Experience Area!

A brand-new Snow Play Experience Area will open for the 2026–27 season.

A new 100-metre moving carpet will be installed, providing enhanced facilities including a sledding area and a dedicated course for beginners.

The existing kids’ area will also be expanded and transformed into the new Snow Play Experience Area.

The area in front of Madarao Kogen Hotel will offer even more attractions, including an igloo restaurant area and a food truck area.

The renewed area will provide an enjoyable and welcoming place to experience the snow for families, non-skiers and non-snowboarders, as well as guests trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time.

Events

■New Year’s Eve Fireworks

A fireworks display is scheduled to take place on December 31 after night skiing ends at 9:00 p.m.

Enjoy a spectacular fireworks display illuminating the winter night sky as we celebrate the end of the year.

■Snow Day -Sunday, February 28

The Nagano Prefecture Ski Lift Operators Association has designated the fourth Sunday of February as “Snow Day”—an opportunity to appreciate the gift of snow and consider environmental issues.

At Madarao Mountain Resort, one guest visiting on the day will be selected in a prize draw to win a season pass for the 2027–28 season.
